IBA expert panel visits IBA’27
The IBA expert panel appointed by the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community (BMI) visited IBA 2027 StadtRegion Stuttgart (IBA’27) last week. The experts spent a day finding out about IBA’27 and discussing the status of the preparations with Director Andreas Hofer and CEO Holger Haas. Regional President Thomas S. Bopp as the Chairman of the supervisory board of IBA 2027 GmbH and Stuttgart’s Lord Mayer Fritz Kuhn as the Vice Chairman of the supervisory board welcomed the guests on the evening before in IBA’27’s offices.
The eight members of the expert panel, who came to Stuttgart along with representatives for the BMI as well as the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBSR), accompany and advise ongoing building exhibitions throughout Germany. Their task is to ensure that the developments, structures and content of the IBAs is in line with the quality criteria set out in the ›Memorandum zur Zukunft Internationaler Bauausstellungen‹ (memo on the future of international building exhibitions / German only, PDF, 3 MB).
»The IBA in the Stuttgart Region has gained traction very quickly«, said Prof. Dr. Werner Durth, who is an advisor responsible for IBA’27 on the expert panel. »It is noticeable that the positive response to the IBA transcends politics and social class as a joint project for the future. I am confident that the IBA can be a success story in the Stuttgart Region with all of these strong partners at its side.«
